Today before departing Yosemite we took a stroll around the Mariposa Grove, one of 3 areas famed for being the home of the Giant Sequoia within Yosemite.

These towering beasts can grow to thousands of years old, and some of the trees here would have been around native Americans roamed the land. The Giant Sequoias have a beautiful red colour taken from the tannin in the tree.

  1. Love dem trees. Wonder if I’ll see them again. As it turns out we ended up well west of where we thought we’d be, in Utah, for Canyonlands NP. No storms till Friday.
